The campaign will run throughout October and Wandsworth Carers’ Centre will be organising some activities, including a quiz, to raise money. You can contribute to the success of the campaign simply by hosting a breakfast at home. For this occasion, we have designed a special fundraising pack to help you organise your event. The main aim is for you to spend an enjoyable time while raising a toast to Carers. If you would like to host a breakfast, please get in touch with Philippa at email@example.com or Clemence at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will register you and send you a fundraising pack.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique of healing that works on the energy of the body. Reiki works at several levels, not just physical, but also emotional and spiritual. During a Reiki session, this life force energy is transmitted through the practitioner and flows through the body of the receiver. If ones life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it’s high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
What can I expect during an appointment?
During a Reiki session, the practitioner will place their hands lightly on different parts of your body. The practitioner will move their hands to the areas where they feel Reiki is most needed. Reiki is an intelligent energy that flows where the imbalances are in your body. Reiki can be practiced hands-on or hands-off. It is always practiced through clothes so you don’t have to undress.
How it can help me?
Reiki can restore natural balance and support the body’s physical ability to heal itself. It can strengthen the immune system and relieve pain. It can also relieve stress, help to relax, calm the mind’s activity and release emotional blockages. As a Carer, it is essential for you to relax and remain healthy.
Reiki is available at the Balham Office on Friday afternoons. The therapist is female. For more information or to go on the waiting list, please call us on 020 8675 0811 or email:
The telephone lines at Wandsworth Carers’ Centre are open from 9.30am to 5.30pm on Monday to Friday. Working Carers: Out of hours appointments may be offered to working Carers. Home visits may be offered to Carers who are unable to get to the Centre.
Do you suffer from back pain or joint problems? Do you need advice on moving and handling? We have a regular Osteopathic clinic at both sites (Wandsworth and Balham) which could help and give you advice on how to care for your back and joints.
Therapeutic Services – Complementary therapies
We also offer a number of therapies to Carers including Tui Na (Chinese massage), Body Massage, Alexander Technique, Japanese Face Massage, Homeopathy and Acupuncture.
